Executive Director

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors of the Really Local Harvest Cooperative, the Executive Director manages all activities and resources of the organization (human, material, and financial resources). This person coordinates and supervises administrative procedures, operations, development, and promotional activities and responds to members and the Board of Directors' requests. Their mandate is to optimize the variety and quality of services offered to members, clients, and the community, mobilize their team, and ensure the cooperative's profitability. 

PROFILE

  • To be attentive to the needs of members, partners, and the community as well as to carry out a service offer that adds value for them; 

  • Ensure member and community participation in the management, operation, and programming of the cooperative's programs, projects, and farmers' markets; 

  • Establish and maintain personalized, quality business relationships with current and potential customers, suppliers, partners, and the sustainable agriculture and local food movements; 

  • Ensure the cooperative has an active presence and enviable visibility with customers, the New Brunswick agri-food ecosystem, and the public; 

  • Define goals and communicate clear expectations to the team;

  • Ability to facilitate communication among stakeholders by reflecting the diversity of communities served in delivering services, content creation, and programming;

  • Participate in the socio-economic efforts and enrichment of the rural and urban communities of Southeastern New-Brunswick.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University or college degree in business administration or other education or experience deemed relevant in the management of a nonprofit organisation. The person with equivalent training must have five years of management experience. Experience in the agrifood industry is an asset; 

  • Experience in managing human, material, and financial resources. Operations and infrastructure management for structures comparable to farmers' markets is a plus; 

  • Knowledge of the agricultural sector, cooperative sector, nonprofit sector, and business environment would be important assets.

  • Good knowledge of English and French;

Compensation: Salary is based on experience and current salary scale, competitive benefits, and flexible hours.
